It is scalable, offers high regioselectivity and gives the products in moderate to high yields. The observed chemoselectivity between the copper-assisted and copper-free protocols is routed through oxidative cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) and nucleophilic aromatic substitution of hydrogen (SNAr) pathways, respectively.
