Meta-Substituted anilines were efficiently synthesized via copper-catalyzed [1,3]-methoxy rearrangement of N-methoxyanilines followed by Michael addition of nucleophiles to the in situ generated ortho-quinol imine. The present reaction exhibits excellent applicability of para-substituents, such as vinyl, methylthio, ester, and bromo, and carbon nucleophiles, such as 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene, N-methylindole, and di-Me malonate. Thus, the present rearrangement can resolve problems stemming from oxidation reactions, such as the use of stoichiometric amounts of oxidants and low compatibility of electron-withdrawing groups.

Black truffle is characterized by a black ascocarp and white veins. This hypogeous fruit body is known for its aroma. Understanding metabolic variation during ripening can shed light on truffle biol. In this work, the comprehensive polar metabolome and the volatile organic compounds of T. melanosporum were studied at different ripening stages by means of a metabolomic approach using GC-MS. Multivariate statistical data anal. indicated that the metabolic profile changed during ripening and that the metabolites that mostly discriminated truffles in the early ripening stages belonged to the classes of carbohydrates, while free fatty acids and amino acids, among which precursors of VOCs, characterized the late stages of ripening. Principal component anal. of the volatilome indicated that dimethylsulfide and dimethyldisulfide characterized most of the samples collected in Dec.-Jan., while 1-octen-3-ol samples collected in Feb.-March.

Dodds, Amy C. published the artcileRegioselective C-H Thioarylation of Electron-Rich Arenes by Iron(III) Triflimide Catalysis, Name: 1,3-Dimethoxybenzene, the main research area is unsym biaryl sulfide preparation regioselective thioarylation arene arylthiosuccinimide.

A mild and regioselective method for the preparation of unsym. biaryl sulfides using iron(III) catalysis is described. Activation of N-(arylthio)succinimides using the powerful Lewis acid iron(III) triflimide allowed the efficient thiolation of a range of arenes, including anisoles, phenols, acetanilides, and N-heterocycles. The method was applicable for the late-stage thiolation of tyrosine and tryptophan derivatives and was used as the key step for the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant biaryl sulfur-containing compounds such as the antibiotic dapsone and the antidepressant vortioxetine. Kinetic studies revealed that while N-(arylthio)succinimides bearing electron-deficient arenes underwent thioarylation catalyzed entirely by iron(III) triflimide, N-(arylthio)succinimides with electron-rich arenes displayed an autocatalytic mechanism promoted by the Lewis basic product.

Baguia, Hajar published the artcile[(DPEPhos)(bcp)Cu]PF6: a general and broadly applicable copper-based photoredox catalyst, Related Products of isoquinoline, the main research area is diphosphine copper bathocuprione complex preparation catalyst radical cyclization arylation; radical cyclization organic halide diphosphine copper bathocuprione complex catalyst; arylation heteroarene diphosphine copper bathocuprione complex catalyst.

The authors’ group recently reported the use of [(DPEPhos)(bcp)Cu]PF6 as a general Cu-based photoredox catalyst which proved efficient to promote the activation of a broad variety of organic halides, including unactivated ones. These can then participate in various radical transformations such as reduction and cyclization reactions, as well as in the direct arylation of several (hetero)arenes. These transformations provide a straightforward access to a range of small mols. of interest in synthetic chem., as well as to biol. active natural products. Altogether, [(DPEPhos)(bcp)Cu]PF6 acts as a convenient photoredox catalyst which appears to be an attractive, cheap and complementary alternative to the state-of-the-art Ir- and Ru-based photoredox catalysts. Here, the authors report a detailed protocol for the synthesis of [(DPEPhos)(bcp)Cu]PF6, as well as NMR and spectroscopic characterizations, and the authors illustrate its use in synthetic chem. for the direct arylation of (hetero)arenes and radical cyclization of organic halides. In particular, the direct arylation of N-methylpyrrole with 4-iodobenzonitrile to afford 4-(1-methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)benzonitrile and the radical cyclization of N-benzoyl-N-[(2-iodoquinolin-3-yl)methyl]cyanamide to afford natural product luotonin A are detailed. The scope and limitations of this Cu-based photoredox catalyst are also briefly discussed.

Angewandte Chemie, International Edition published new progress about Alkynes Role: RCT (Reactant), RACT (Reactant or Reagent) (alkynyliodonium compounds). 151-10-0 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 1,3-Dimethoxybenzene, and the molecular formula is C8H10O2, Formula: C8H10O2.

Shreiber, Scott T. published the artcileSolvated Nickel Complexes as Stoichiometric and Catalytic Perfluoroalkylation Agents, Formula: C8H10O2, the main research area is nickel perfluoroalkyl complex preparation coupling iodonium diazonium fluoroalkylation; perfluoroalkylarene preparation fluoroalkylation iodonium diazonium nickelate complex; crystal mol structure nickel perfluoroalkyl complex; catalysis; fluorine; nickel; perfluoroalkylation; trifluoromethylation.

The acetonitrile-solvated [(MeCN)Ni(C2F5)3]- was prepared in order to compare and contrast its reactivity with the known [(MeCN)Ni(CF3)3]- towards organic electrophiles. Both [(MeCN)Ni(CF3)3]- and [(MeCN)Ni(C2F5)3]- successfully react with aryl iodonium and diazonium salts as well as alkynyl iodonium salts to give fluoroalkylated organic products. Electrochem. anal. of [(MeCN)NiII(C2F5)3]- suggests that, upon electro-oxidation to [(MeCN)nNiIII(C2F5)3], reductive homolysis of a perfluoroethyl radical occurs, with the concomitant formation of [(MeCN)2NiII(C2F5)2]. Catalytic C-H trifluoromethylations of electron-rich arenes were successfully achieved using either [(MeCN)Ni(CF3)3]- or the related [Ni(CF3)4]2-. Stoichiometric reactions of the solvated nickel complexes reveal that “”ligandless”” nickel is exceptionally capable of serving as reservoir of CF3 groups under catalytically relevant conditions.
