Chemical Engineering Journal (Amsterdam, Netherlands) published new progress about Gamma ray. 117-96-4 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is Diatrizoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C11H9I3N2O4, Application of Diatrizoic Acid.

Velo-Gala, Inmaculada published the artcileIonic X-ray contrast media degradation in aqueous solution induced by gamma radiation, Application of Diatrizoic Acid, the main research area is ionic x ray contrast media degradation gamma radiation.

The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of gamma irradiation to transform diatrizoate, DTZ, (contrast medium) in aqueous solution determining the role of oxidizing and reducting species on DTZ degradation The mechanisms involved in DTZ degradation have also been studied. Removal of 91.9% of the diatrizoate was achieved at a dose of 1000 Gy at initial concentration of 25 mg/L. The degradation rate depends on the initial concentration The dose constant is independent of the dose rate in the studied range of 3.83-1.06 Gy/min and slightly depends on solution pH in the interval pH 2.0-10.0. Results obtained show that low H2O2 concentrations increase the efficacy of the process, and high concentrations markedly decrease the dose constant The reaction constant of diatrizoate with the hydrogen radical was determined, obtaining a kH[rad] (DTZ) value of (2.2 ± 0.5) × 109 M-1 s-1. DTZ irradiation byproducts have been determined by HPLC-MS and an oxidation/reduction mechanism has been proposed. Three possible degradation pathways based on the major byproducts found at different doses have been proposed. Moreover, the results obtained indicated a further possible compound degradation pathway, which is based on decarboxylation by hydrogen radical or HO· radical with a subsequent attack by hydroxyl radicals against the ketone group.

ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering published new progress about Eutectics. 598-50-5 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 1-Methylurea, and the molecular formula is C2H6N2O, Product Details of C2H6N2O.

Liu, Min published the artcileExtraction of Natural Products by Direct Formation of Eutectic Systems, Product Details of C2H6N2O, the main research area is natural product extraction eutectic.

A eutectic system forms when two or more substances reorganize into a superlattice that has a lower m.p. than each of the individual components. Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are environmentally friendly solvents often used for the dissolution, extraction, and separation of chem. compounds Instead of using DESs for extraction, hydrogen bond acceptors (HBAs) or hydrogen bond donors (HBDs) can be used to form a deep eutectic system (DESys) directly with the target compound for one-step dissolution and extraction The feasibility of direct formation of a DESys for high efficiency extraction was demonstrated with turmeric as the extraction target. The data showed that the target compounds indeed directly interacted with HBAs (and for other compounds, HBDs), which increases process efficiency and reduces the time required for target compounds to compete with another HBD (or HBA) to form hydrogen bonds. In addition, the results showed that the target compounds have different physicochem. properties in DESys and DES, which resulted in different anal. behaviors of the targets. This research may lead to changes in how eutectic systems are used and the development of new applications based on the formation of DESys.

Iio, Keita’s team published research in Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters in 2022-03-15 | CAS: 104-01-8

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters published new progress about Chirality. 104-01-8 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid, and the molecular formula is C9H10O3, Safety of 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid.

Iio, Keita published the artcileDiscovery of orexin 2 receptor selective and dual orexin receptor agonists based on the tetralin structure: Switching of receptor selectivity by chirality on the tetralin ring, Safety of 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid, the main research area is orexin 2 receptor agonists chirality structure activity; Agonist; Diarylsulfonamide; OX1R; OX2R; Orexin; Orexin receptor; Tetraline.

A novel series of 1-amino-tetralin derivatives were designed and synthesized based on the putative binding mode of the naphthalene-type orexin receptor agonist 5 and their agonist activities against orexin receptors were evaluated. The introduction of N-methyl-(3-methoxyphenyl)acetamide unit onto the 1-amino-tetralin skeleton remarkably enhanced the potency of the agonist. The asym. synthesis of 6 revealed that (-)-6 having a (S)-1-amino-tetralin skeleton showed a OX2R selective agonist activity (EC50 = 2.69 nM for OX2R, OX1R/OX2R = 461) yet its enantiomer (R)-(+)-6 showed a potent OX1/2R dual agonist activity (EC50 = 13.5 nM for OX1R, 0.579 nM for OX2R, OX1R/OX2R = 23.3). These results suggested that upward orientation of the amide side chain against the tetralin scaffold (S-configuration) would be selective for OX2R activation, and the downward orientation (R-configuration) would be significant for dual agonist activity. To our best knowledge, there have been no reports thus far that the stereochem. of one carbon center on the agonist structure regulates the orexin receptor selectivity. Our results would provide important information for the development of OX1R selective agonists.

Hennebel, Tom’s team published research in Biotechnology Letters in 2011-01-31 | CAS: 117-96-4

Biotechnology Letters published new progress about Catalysis. 117-96-4 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is Diatrizoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C11H9I3N2O4, Application In Synthesis of 117-96-4.

Hennebel, Tom published the artcileDehalogenation of environmental pollutants in microbial electrolysis cells with biogenic palladium nanoparticles, Application In Synthesis of 117-96-4, the main research area is microbial electrolysis cell palladium trichloroethylene dechlorination catalytic groundwater remediation.

Purpose of work Hydrodehalogenation of persistent pollutants, such as the groundwater contaminants trichloroethylene and diatrizoate, are catalyzed by biogenic Pd nanoparticles. As H2 gas supply for the dehalogenation reactions is still the limiting factor, this study examines in situ H2 production in the cathode of a microbial electrolysis cell. In a biogenic Pd nanoparticle (bio-Pd) free microbial electrolysis cell (MEC), dechlorination of trichloroethylene (TCE) with concomitant chloride and ethane formation was achieved in the cathode compartment at a removal rate of 120 g TCE m-3 total cathode compartment (TCC) day-1, applying -0.8 V with a power source. When the cathode granules were coated with 5 mg bio-Pd g-1 graphite, chloride and ethane formation increased to 151 g TCE m-3 TCC day-1 corresponding with a specific removal rate of 48 mg TCE g-1 Pd day-1. In both cases, formation of unwanted byproducts, such as vinyl chloride, was not significant. When the same setup was applied for transformation of the iodinated contrast medium diatrizoate (diaI3), reduction in a catalyst-free cathode of a MEC resulted in a removal of 48 ± 9% during the first h corresponding to 3 g diaI3 m-3 TCC day-1. Coating the cathodic graphite granules with bio-Pd enhanced the transformation resulting in a 93 ± 4% removal during the first h corresponding to 6 g diaI3 m-3 TCC day-1. These results suggest that MECs can produce H2 in a sustainable way to provide an economical interesting reactant for bio-Pd catalyzed dehalogenation reactions.

Clemente-Villalba, Jesus published the artcileComparison on sensory profile, volatile composition and consumer’s acceptance for PDO or non-PDO tigernut (Cyperus esculentus L.) milk, Safety of 1,3-Dimethoxybenzene, the main research area is horchata tigernut milk volatile compound penalty analysis.

Cyperus esculentus tubers are the raw material to prepare tigernut milk (horchata), which can be marketed under Protected Designation of Origin “”C hufa de Valencia””. The aim of this study was to characterize com. tigernut milks and compare PDO and non-PDO products. The following aspects were studied: (i) volatile profile, (ii) descriptive sensory profile, (iii) consumer satisfaction degree. The key volatile compounds were limonene, benzaldehyde, linalool and m-methoxyanisole. Principal component anal. indicated a mix of PDO and non-PDO samples in the groups formed. The highest consumer satisfactions were observed for 2 PDO samples. Penalty anal. showed that 80% of non-PDO samples needed improvements, while this percentage drastically decreased to 40% for PDO samples. The online study proved that a lot of people drink horchata, less people know the PDO Chufa de Valencia and even less people consume the protected product consciously. In conclusion, there was not a clear difference among protected and non-protected tigernut milks respect to volatile compounds but there were differences in the degree of consumer preference. So, it is clear that a lack of knowledge regarding the product and its PDO exists and needs attention.

Journal of the American Chemical Society published new progress about Azidation. 104-01-8 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid, and the molecular formula is C9H10O3, Related Products of isoquinoline.

Liu, Wen published the artcileIron-Catalyzed Enantioselective Radical Carboazidation and Diazidation of α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl Compounds, Related Products of isoquinoline, the main research area is iron catalyzed enantioselective radical carboazidation diazidation alkene; azidation unsaturated carbonyl compound DFT calculation.

Azidation of alkenes is an efficient protocol to synthesize organic azides which are important structural motifs in organic synthesis. Enantioselective radical azidation, as a useful strategy to install a C-N3 bond, remains challenging due to the inherently instability and unique structure of radicals. Here, we disclose an efficient enantioselective radical carboazidation and diazidation of α,β-unsaturated ketones and amides catalyzed by chiral N,N’-dioxide/Fe(OTf)2 complexes. An array of substituted alkenes was transformed to the corresponding α-azido carbonyl derivatives in good to excellent enantioselectivities, benefiting the preparation of chiral α-amino ketones, vicinal amino alcs., and vicinal diamines. Control experiments and mechanistic studies proved the radical pathway in the reaction process. The DFT calculations showed that the azido transferred to the radical intermediate via an intramol. five-membered transition state with the internal nitrogen of the Fe-N3 species.

Metal-free TFA promoted arylation/heteroarylation was achieved under mild conditions via the reaction of chloro-derivatives of nitrogen heterocycles [e.g., =C-C(Cl)=N-] with electron rich arenes/heteroarenes for synthesis of aryl substituted nitrogen heterocycles such as I [R = H; R1 = H; RR1 = CH=CH-CH=CH; R2 = 1H-indol-3-yl, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl, 2,4-di-HOC6H3, etc.; R3 = Cl, CN; X = C, N]. It was also observed that apart from participating in the heteroarylation step, TFA was able to facilitate the hydroarylation/o-arylation process in the same pot affording the carbazole/oxepine fused N-heterocycles such as II [R4 = H, OMe, Br; R5 = H, Br; R6 = Ph, 4-MeC6H4; R7 = Me, Et, Bn] and III [R8 = H; R9 = H; R8R9 = CH=CH-CH=CH, CH=C(Me)-C(Me)=CH; R10 = H, Me; R11 = H, Me, Cl, Br].
