3,3-Difluoro-1,2-diphenylcyclopropene (CpFluor), a bench-stable fluorination reagent, has been developed in the deoxyfluorination of carboxylic acids to afford various acyl fluorides. This all-carbon-based fluorination reagent enabled the efficient transformation of (hetero)aryl, alkyl, alkenyl, and alkynyl carboxylic acids to the corresponding acyl fluorides under the neutral conditions. This deoxyfluorination method was featured by the synthesis of acyl fluorides with in-situ formed CpFluor, as well as the one-pot amidation reaction of carboxylic acids via in-situ formed acyl fluorides.

Deus, Lysleine Alves’s team published research in Physiology & Behavior in 2019-06-01 | CAS: 86-51-1

Physiology & Behavior published new progress about Aging; Athletics; Cardiovascular; Master athletes; Parasympathetic; Running; Sympathetic. 86-51-1 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 2,3-Dimethoxybenzaldehyde, and the molecular formula is C9H10O3, COA of Formula: C9H10O3.

Deus, Lysleine Alves published the artcileHeart rate variability in middle-aged sprint and endurance athletes, COA of Formula: C9H10O3, the main research area is Aging; Athletics; Cardiovascular; Master athletes; Parasympathetic; Running; Sympathetic.

Aging is associated with decreased autonomic balance which could be assessed by Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Exercise training improves autonomic balance, but there is a lack in the literature regarding the heart rate variability (HRV) of master sprinters and endurance athletes. The effects of lifelong endurance and sprint training on cardiac autonomic balance were assessed in master athletes and compared with age-matched controls and young untrained controls. Participants (n = 81) were 8 master sprinters (MS; 51.8 ± 11.1 yrs), 8 master endurance athletes (EN, n = 8, 53.6 ± 8.6 yrs), 17 age-matched untrained (CON, 47.47 ± 6.00 yrs) and 48 young controls (YC, 25.40 ± 3.87 yrs). For the acquisition of RR intervals (iRR) (Polar RS800X Heart Rate Monitor) the participants remained seated for 15-min with the final 10-min being considered for anal. HRV was measured using Kubios software. A one-way ANOVA with repeated measures was applied. All studied parameters did not differ between MS and EN {Time Domain [HR (bpm) 59.00 ± 6.13 vs. 58.94 ± 12.75], [R-R (ms) 1030.45 ± 107.45 vs. 1068.77 ± 206.17], [SDNN (ms) 57.35 ± 20.07 vs. 80.66 ± 71.07], [RMSSD (ms) 40.88 ± 20.07 vs. 38.93 ± 20.44]; Non-linear domain [SD1 (ms) 28.93 ± 14.20 vs. 27.56 ± 14.46]}, whose demonstrated a reduced HR and elevated mean R-R intervals in comparison to both YC {[HR (bpm) 69.64 ± 9.81]; [R-R (ms) 883.93 ± 124.11]} and age-matched controls {[HR (bpm) 70.06 ± 6.63]; [R-R (ms) 865.11 ± 78.39]}. It was observed a lower HRV for middle-aged CON {[RMSSD (ms) 20.23 ± 5.87], [SDNN (ms) 37.79 ± 10.15] and [SD1 (ms) 14.31 ± 4.15]} compared to YC {[RMSSD (ms) 43.33 ± 26.41], [SDNN (ms) 67.07 ± 28.77] and [SD1 (ms) 30.66 ± 18.69; p < .05]}. These last age-related differences were not observed for MS and EN. For master athletes, regardless of whether they are trained in endurance or sprinters, both training modes revealed to be equally beneficial in attenuating the effects of aging on the autonomic balance. Batisse, F’s team published research in Orthopaedics & traumatology, surgery & research : OTSR in 2016-02-10 | CAS: 117-96-4

Orthopaedics & traumatology, surgery & research : OTSR published new progress about Aneurysmal bone cyst; Ethibloc(®); Sclerotherapy; Surgery. 117-96-4 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is Diatrizoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C11H9I3N2O4, Formula: C11H9I3N2O4.

Batisse, F published the artcileAneurysmal bone cyst: A 19-case series managed by percutaneous sclerotherapy., Formula: C11H9I3N2O4, the main research area is Aneurysmal bone cyst; Ethibloc(®); Sclerotherapy; Surgery.

INTRODUCTION: Sclerotherapy offers an alternative to surgery for the treatment of aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC). The main objective of the present study was to assess the radiological efficacy of sclerotherapy in terms of ossification on MRI. Secondary objectives were to assess clinical efficacy on pain evaluation and to analyze recurrence and complications according to type of sclerosing agent and intraoperative imaging technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between 2006 and 2014, 19 patients (7 females, 12 males, aged 3 to 17 years) with ABC treated by sclerotherapy were included. Six received Ethibloc(®), 9 Aetoxisclerol(®), 2 liquid absolute alcohol, and 2 absolute alcohol gel. Assessment used fluoroscopy in 17 cases and CT in 2. Ossification was assessed on MRI and pain on a visual analog scale and HEDEN score. RESULTS: Ossification was complete in 11 cases (84.6%) and partial in 2 (15.4%). Eighteen patients (94.7%) were pain-free at 3 months. There was no recurrence, at a minimum 2 years’ follow-up. One case of skin necrosis was observed, associated with use of liquid absolute alcohol; there was 1 case of arterial reflux of Ethibloc(®) under CT control. DISCUSSION: Sclerotherapy enables minimally invasive treatment of lesions that are deep, difficult of access to surgery and potentially damaging. Use of absolute alcohol gel and fluoroscopic control seems to improve the risk/benefit ratio, limiting complications by vascular extravasation of the sclerosing agent, thanks to real-time visualization of diffusion. Its clinical and radiological efficacy makes sclerotherapy and alternative primary treatment choice in ABC. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: IV, retrospective study.

Theis, Jake’s team published research in Abdominal radiology (New York) in 2016 | CAS: 117-96-4

Abdominal radiology (New York) published new progress about Bowel preparation; CT colonography; Quality assurance; Virtual colonoscopy. 117-96-4 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is Diatrizoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C11H9I3N2O4, Safety of Diatrizoic Acid.

Theis, Jake published the artcileCT colonography after incomplete optical colonoscopy: bowel preparation quality at same-day vs. deferred examination., Safety of Diatrizoic Acid, the main research area is Bowel preparation; CT colonography; Quality assurance; Virtual colonoscopy.

PURPOSE: To objectively compare the volume, density, and distribution of luminal fluid for same-day oral-contrast-enhanced CTC following incomplete optical colonoscopy (OC) vs. deferred CTC on a separate day utilizing a dedicated CTC bowel preparation. METHODS: HIPAA-compliant, IRB-approved retrospective study compared 103 same-day CTC studies after incomplete OC (utilizing 30 mL oral diatrizoate) against 151 CTC examinations performed on a separate day after failed OC using a dedicated CTC bowel preparation (oral magnesium citrate/dilute barium/diatrizoate the evening before). A subgroup of 15 patients who had both same-day CTC and separate-day routine CTC was also identified and underwent separate analysis. CTC exams were analyzed for opacified fluid distribution within the GI tract, as well as density and volume. Data were analyzed utilizing Kruskal-Wallis and Wilcoxon Signed Rank tests. RESULTS: Opacified luminal fluid extended to the rectum in 56% (58/103) of same-day CTC vs. 100% (151/151) of deferred separate-day CTC (p < 0.0001). For same-day CTC, contrast failed to reach the colon in 11% (11/103) and failed to reach the left colon in 26% (27/103). Volumetric colonic fluid segmentation for fluid analysis (successful in 80 same-day and 147 separate-day cases) showed significantly more fluid in the same-day cohort (mean, 227 vs. 166 mL; p < 0.0001); the actual difference is underestimated due to excluded cases. Mean colonic fluid attenuation was significantly lower in the same-day cohort (545 vs. 735 HU; p < 0.0001). Similar findings were identified in the smaller cohort with direct intra-patient CTC comparison. CONCLUSIONS: Dedicated CTC bowel preparation on a separate day following incomplete OC results in a much higher quality examination compared with same-day CTC. Rogers, Douglas’s team published research in Abdominal radiology (New York) in 2017 | CAS: 117-96-4

Abdominal radiology (New York) published new progress about Computed tomography; Oral contrast; Palatability; Taste. 117-96-4 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is Diatrizoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C11H9I3N2O4, Name: Diatrizoic Acid.

Rogers, Douglas published the artcileIopamidol as an oral contrast media for computed tomography: a taste comparison to iohexol, diatrizoate sodium, and barium sulfate., Name: Diatrizoic Acid, the main research area is Computed tomography; Oral contrast; Palatability; Taste.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study is to compare the palatability of iopamidol and iohexol. METHODS: This was a blinded and randomized trial in which fifty healthy subjects taste tested iopamidol (Isovue, Bracco Diagnostics), iohexol (Omnipaque, GE Healthcare), diatrizoate meglumine and diatrizoate sodium solution (Gastrografin, Bracco Diagnostics), and barium sulfate suspension 2.1% w/v, 2.0% w/w (READI-CAT2, E-Z-EM). Participants scored palatability on a continuous scale from 0 to 40 (0 = intolerable, 10 = unpleasant but tolerable, 20 = neutral, 30 = kind of like, 40 = strongly like). RESULTS: Mean scores (SD/SEM) for the contrast agents (n = 50) were iopamidol = 21.0 (8.4/1.2); iohexol = 21.8 (7.1/1.0); Gastrografin = 16.8 (9.6/1.4); and barium = 23.7 (9.1/1.3). One-way ANOVA equality of means test shows rejection of the hypothesis that the means are equal (F* = 6.550, p = .000). Post hoc testing demonstrates Gastrografin to be significantly less preferred to barium (p = .000) and iohexol (p = .012). No difference was found between iopamidol and iohexol (p = .959). One-way ANOVA equality of means test of just iopamidol, iohexol, and barium does not reject the hypothesis that means are equal (F* = 1.778 and p = .174). CONCLUSION: There is no significant difference in palatability between iopamidol and iohexol, supporting the use of iopamidol as a viable alternative to iohexol as an oral contrast agent.

Antioxidants published new progress about Acacia. 104-01-8 belongs to class isoquinoline, name is 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid, and the molecular formula is C9H10O3, Recommanded Product: 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid.

Margaoan, Rodica published the artcileMonofloral Honeys as a Potential Source of Natural Antioxidants, Minerals and Medicine, Recommanded Product: 4-Methoxyphenylacetic acid, the main research area is review monofloral honey natural antioxidant mineral medicine; anticancer; antioxidant activity; monofloral honey; phenolic compounds; physicochemical properties.

Background: vegetative diversity is based on different climate and geog. origins. In terms of beekeeping, herbal diversity is strongly correlated to the production of a wide variety of honey. Therefore, based on the existing plant diversity in each country, multiple honey varieties are produced with different health characteristics. While beekeeping potential and consumption preferences are reflected in productsâ€?variety, this leads to an increase in the region′s economy and extensive export. In the last years, monofloral honey has gained interest from consumers and especially in the medicinal field due to the presence of phytochems. which are directly linked to health benefits, wound healing, antioxidant, anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities. Scope and approach: this review aims to highlight the physicochem. properties, mineral profiles and antioxidant activities of selected monofloral honeys based on their botanical and geog. origin. Moreover, this review focuses on the intercorrelation between monofloral honey′s antioxidant compounds and in vitro and in vivo activities, focusing on the apoptosis and cell proliferation inhibition in various cell lines, with a final usage of honey as a potential therapeutic product in the fight towards reducing tumor growth. Key findings and conclusions: multiple studies have demonstrated that monofloral honeys have different physicochem. structures and bioactive compounds Useful chem. markers to distinguish between monofloral honeys were evidenced, such as: 2-methoxybenzoic acid and trimethoxybenzoic acid are distinctive to Manuka honey while 4-methoxyphenylacetic acid is characteristic to Kanuka honey. Furthermore, resveratrol, epigallocatechin and pinostrobin are markers distinct to Sage honey, whereas carvacrol and thymol are found in Ziziphus honey. Due to their polyphenolic profile, monofloral honeys have significant antioxidant activity, as well as antidiabetic, antimicrobial and anticancer activities. It was demonstrated that Pine honey decreased the MDA and TBARS levels in liver, kidney, heart and brain tissues, whereas Malicia honey reduced the low-d. lipoprotein level. Consumption of Clover, Acacia and Gelam honeys reduced the weight and adiposity, as well as trygliceride levels. Furthermore, the antiproliferative effect of chrysin, a natural flavone in Acacia honey, was demonstrated in human (A375) and murine (B16-F1) melanoma cell lines, whereas caffeic acid, a phenolic compound found in Kelulut honey, proves to be significant candidate in the chemoprevention of colon cancer. Based on these features, the use of hiney in the medicinal field (apitherapy), and the widespread usage of natural product consumption, is gaining interest by each year.

Honey is a food known for its medical properties. In this work, we have studied the impact of different types of honey on insulin signalling pathway. We found that honey extracts inhibit the enzyme PTP1B, one of the main neg. regulators of insulin receptor signalling. HPLC-MS anal. allowed us to confirm the presence of several natural PTP1B inhibitors in the honey extracts analyzed. Statistical anal. methods show a correlation between specific 1H-NMR resonance frequencies/HPLC peaks and the inhibitory power of the samples. This finding will allow the prediction of the biol. properties of honey samples applying relative simple anal. methods. Finally, we demonstrated that the treatment of HepG2 cells with honey extracts enhances the expression of insulin receptor, and stimulates glucose uptake. For the first time, our results demonstrate that bioactive components of honey could improve glycemic control by both inhibiting PTP1B and stimulating the expression of insulin receptor in liver cells.
