Compound lb (554 mg, 2.0 mmol) was taken up in a 2M ammonia solution in isopropanol (4 mL, 8 mmol) in a sealed microwave vessel. The reaction was heated at 170C by microwave for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled down and diluted with water and dichioromethane. The organic layer was separated and washed twice with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered through a 2 cm layer of silica gel (which was washed with 5% methanol in dichloromethane). Combined organics were concentrated down under reduced pressure and the crude residue was treated with hexane in sonic bath for 2 minutes.
