Syntheses and Characterizations of Two New Octamolybdate-Based Polyoxometalates Decorated by Isoquinoline Ligands
Hydrothermal reactions of molybdenum(III) oxide with isoquinoline under different pH values lead to two new octamolybdate-based polyoxometalates (POMs), namely, (C9H7NH)(4)(C9H7N)(2)[Mo8O26] (1) and (C9H7NH)(4)[(Mo8O26)(C9H7N)(2)]2(H2O) (2), and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The two compounds represent the first report of [Mo8O26](4-) based POMs associated with isoquinoline ligand. Compound (1) has 3D supramolecular framework based on hydrogen bonds between [-Mo8O26](4-) fragment and protonated isoquinoline (C9H7NH)(+). Compound (2) contains [(-Mo8O26)(C9H7N)(2)](4-) units constructed by [-Mo8O26](4-) units and isoquinoline through Mo-N bonds.
