The CuII atom, which lies at a center of inversion, has a distorted octahedral geometry, where the equatorial plane is composed of four N atoms belonging to two bidentate 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole ligands, and the axial positions are occupied by two O atoms of two monodentate nitrate anions.
