A urea derivative of novel intermittent N-methylurea cyanurate (NMUC) crystalline salt was synthesized using methanol solvent, and thus crystals growing in same medium under the slow evaporation techniques governed by the reflux method. Mol. structure and other crystallog. parameters of grown crystalline salt was refined using SHELX program. Crystalline perfection was examined using high resolution X-ray diffraction anal. Elemental compositions of grown crystal were measured using CHNX anal. The mol. structure of the grown crystal is further confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR spectral anal. The Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) is used to determine the sp. heat capacity of the grown crystal in the temperature range from 303 to 373 K. Hardness measurement was performed on the (100), (110) and (001) crystallog. planes of this crystal, which elucidates their hardness nature including the yield strength (σy) and elastic stiffness constant (C11) associated with the applied loads. The Laser induced threshold damage of NMUC was calculated using Nd:YAG laser. The magnetic behavior of the compound was studied through the hysteresis loop using Vibrating sample magnetometery technique. Photoconductivity anal. was used to measure the dark-current and photocurrent of grown crystal under the applied DC voltage between 20 and 400 V.
