Now I present to you an article called Tuning the Spin States of Two Apical Iron(II) Ions in the Trigonal-Bipyramidal [{FeII(μ-bpt)3}2FeII3(μ3-O)]2+ Cations Through the Choice of Anions, published in 2010, which mentions a compound: 1671-88-1, mainly applied to crystal structure iron bispyridinyltriazolato oxo bridged pentanuclear cluster; iron bispyridinyltriazolato oxo bridged pentanuclear cluster preparation spin state; counterion control iron bispyridinyltriazolato oxo bridged pentanuclear spin state, Name: 3,5-Di(pyridin-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine.

Pentanuclear [{FeII(μ-bpt)3}2FeII3(μ3-O)]2+ (Hbpt = 3,5-bis(2-pyridinyl)-1,2,4-triazole) complex salts were prepared with different counterions. The spin states of the apical Fe(2+) centers were tunable depending on the counterion. A [Fe2OCl6]2- counterion induced the high spin state in the pentanuclear cluster while SCN-/ClO4-/I- gave low spin states in the apical Fe centers. Crystal structures are reported for the 4 salts as solvates. The bpt- clusters were prepared from the 4-aminotriazole analog.
