The reaction mixture was cooled to?78 ^C and n-butyllithium (2.5 M in hexane, 6 mL, 15.1 mmol, 1.50 equiv) was added dropwise. The reaction mixture was stirred at?78 ^C for 2 h, then DMF (1.46 g, 19.9 mmol, 2.00 equiv) was added dropwise. The resulting solution was stirred for 2 h at?78 ^C, quenched with aq.
