9,10-Dimethoxy-5,6-dihydro-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolino[3,2-a]isoquinolin-7-ium (cas: 2086-83-1) belongs to isoquinoline derivatives. Being an analog of pyridine, isoquinoline is a weak base, with a pKa of 5.14. The Pomeranz–Fritsch reaction provides a method for the preparation of isoquinoline. This reaction uses a benzaldehyde and aminoacetoaldehyde diethyl acetal, which in an acid medium react to form isoquinoline.Synthetic Route of C20H18NO4

Phytochemical and network-based chemotaxonomic study on Thalictrum foliolosum was written by He, Gongxiu;Tu, Xichen;Yan, Yuanfeng;Peng, Jun;Yin, Tianpeng. And the article was included in Biochemical Systematics and Ecology in 2022.Synthetic Route of C20H18NO4 This article mentions the following:

Phytochem. investigation on the whole herbs of Thalictrum foliolosum DC. (Ranunculaceae) led to the isolation of eighteen compounds, including nine isoquinoline alkaloids (1-9) and nine nonalkaloidal constituents (10-18). Among them, compounds 11-14 and 16-18 have not been previously isolated from this genus, while compounds 1, 7, 10, and 15 have not been previously found in this species. The chemotaxonomic values of these compounds were explored by compound-species network anal. Some of the isolated compounds (1, 7, 10) showed limited distribution in the genus, which could serve as chemotaxonomic markers to facilitate species identification of T. foliolosum. In the experiment, the researchers used many compounds, for example, 9,10-Dimethoxy-5,6-dihydro-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolino[3,2-a]isoquinolin-7-ium (cas: 2086-83-1Synthetic Route of C20H18NO4).
