Computed Properties of C5H2Cl3NO. Aromatic heterocyclic compounds can also be classified according to the number of heteroatoms contained in the heterocycle: single heteroatom, two heteroatoms, three heteroatoms and four heteroatoms. Compound: 2,3,5-Trichloropyridin-4-ol, is researched, Molecular C5H2Cl3NO, CAS is 1970-40-7, about Selectivity of 2,3,5-trichloro-4-pyridinol as a herbicide for direct-seeded, flooded rice. Author is Moomaw, J. C.; Kim, D. S..
Field and greenhouse experiments showed that 2,3,5-trichloro-4-pyridinol (pyriclor) (I) at 50-500 g./ha. controlled the grass weed, Echinochloa crus-galli, in direct-seeded rice. I prevented germination and restricted growth of the weed under both static and percolating water conditions, but permitted rice to germinate and grow normally. I was most effective when applied early, and treated plots gave higher yields than those handweeded or sprayed with propanil. Grass-weed control was as effective as that of molinate (S-ethylhexahydro-[1H]-azepine-1-carbothioate) (II) or nitrofen (2,4-dichlorophenyl-4-nitrophenyl ether) applied at much higher rates. Dichlobenil (2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile) inhibited rice germination and was toxic to young seedlings, and is thus unsuitable for direct-seeded rice. II had a wider range of latitude in time of application than the other herbicides. Greenhouse experiments indicated that I moves down in percolating water but is adsorbed more readily in fine than in coarse-textured soils.
