Now I present to you an article called Differential response of ditchbank grasses to herbicides, published in 1973, which mentions a compound: 1970-40-7, mainly applied to grass control herbicide; dalapon grass control; amitrole grass control; pyriclor grass control, Electric Literature of C5H2Cl3NO.
The undesirable plants reed canarygrass, quackgrass, and smooth brome were consistently more susceptible to 3-amino-s-triazole-ammonium thiocyanate (amitrole-NH4SCN) [51365-94-7] than were 3 desirable short grasses Kentucky bluegrass, creeping red fescue, and redtop. Reed canarygrass and redtop were more susceptible to dalapon [75-99-0] than was creeping red fescue. Amitrole-NH4SCN-dalapon mixture in various combinations was more toxic to reed canarygrass, smooth brome, and redtop than to creeping red fescue. Pyriclor (I) [1970-40-7] was quite toxic to all the grasses, with Kentucky bluegrass showing the most tolerance. Trichloroacetic acid-amitrole-NH4SCN mixture was similar in activity to the mixture with dalapon, but had less overall toxicity.
