Decarboxylation of IV at 200-10° formed 4-hydroxy-2,3,5-trichloropyridine, m. 215° (aqueous EtOH). When Me 3,5,6-trichloro-4-aminopicolinate, m. 120-2° (n-C7H16), was oxidized with F3CCO2OH, the corresponding 4-nitro ester, m. 142-3° (C6H6), was formed.
